Spice Diana Opens Up About Her Distant Bond With Her Father

Spice Diana just shared something deeply personal when she said she doesn’t have a bond with her father. And she explained exactly why, while speaking about it on Bukedde TV. She said she only reconnected with him years later, and it happened on stage, of all places.

A man walked up during her performance and handed her money and left without saying much. Something about him felt familiar, though. She remembered his face from long ago, so years earlier, she’d gone to him for help. Her sister needed school fees back then. He didn’t provide them.

That memory stayed frozen in her mind. It became the last image she had of him. So when he appeared on stage, she recognized him instantly.

“I was performing on stage, and a man approached the stage. I have this picture of him in my head from many years ago when I went to him to request my sister’s school fees when she was in P.7, and he didn’t provide. That is the last picture of him I had, but I recognized him,” she said.

After the show, they finally talked, it was brief, but it mattered. She gave him her number, and he eventually called. They kept in touch after that moment. Nothing formal, just occasional contact. Eventually, she visited his home herself.

“He gave me money on stage and left. He waited for me, and after my performance, I gave him time, and we had a brief chat. I shared my number, and he called me after some time. We had a chat, and we both remained in our respective lives. When I got time, I went and visited him. In my Spice Diana era, I have visited him twice, but there is no bond between us,” she said.

Despite the reconnection, something important stayed missing. The special bond kids usually share with fathers never formed. Both Spice Diana and her father accepted that reality and moved forward separately. People have criticized her for this distance. Some ask why she helps strangers but not him. Her answer cuts straight to the point.

“I forgave both my dads, and I don’t hold grudges in my heart, but when someone decides to live their life, let him be. I grew up with strangers, and I will always help those I find on the streets because they raised me and showed me love, and made me who I am,” she said.

That explanation says a lot about her values. Blood alone doesn’t guarantee closeness. Strangers stepped in when family didn’t, and she hasn’t forgotten that. Her honesty here feels rare. Most people avoid discussing absent parents publicly. Spice Diana chose transparency instead, and it clearly comes from a grounded place.

She isn’t angry, just realistic. Forgiveness doesn’t always mean reconciliation. Sometimes it just means letting people live their own lives, peacefully and separately.
