Tyrese Gibson Visits Uganda, Joins Coffee Tourism Launch in Kampala

American actor and singer Tyrese Gibson has landed in Kampala for a three-day visit, invited by the Government of Uganda and private-sector partners. Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group, and Juliana Kaggwa, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, welcomed him on arrival.

Talent Africa Group is coordinating Gibson’s schedule throughout the trip, working with government and tourism officials to line up his engagements. The itinerary connects him with Uganda’s tourism, coffee, culture, and investment sectors.

Tyrese Gibson has already met with the Head of State, a meeting that adds to Uganda’s growing profile as a tourism and investment destination. He also joined the official launch of Explore Uganda Coffee Tourism at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an initiative built around Uganda’s coffee culture and the experiences tied to it.

Explore Uganda Coffee Tourism brings together the Uganda Tourism Board, Kampala Capital City Authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Africa Coffee Park. The campaign aims to turn Kampala into a place where visitors can follow Uganda’s coffee value chain while taking in its tourism attractions and cultural heritage.

Gibson’s trip isn’t over yet. He’ll visit the Source of the Nile to take in some of Uganda’s natural scenery, plant coffee trees, and meet farmers in Western Uganda.

Gibson built his career in film and music. He’s best known for his role in the Fast & Furious franchise, including 2 Fast 2 Furious, and for music hits like “How You Gonna Act Like That,” which has racked up hundreds of millions of views on YouTube.

His visit is expected to boost international attention on Uganda’s tourism sector, particularly around cultural, experiential, and coffee tourism. Through Talent Africa Group’s coordination, Gibson is getting a look at Uganda that goes beyond the usual tourist stops, one that puts him in direct contact with the country’s coffee communities, culture, and people.
