Evelyn Mic Stands Her Ground in Feud With Sheilah Gashumba

Evelyn Mic isn’t backing down. The media personality, whose real name is Evelyn Masika, used her radio show to respond directly to Sheilah Gashumba, reaffirming everything she’d said earlier about Sheilah’s breakup with Alex Bidandi and daring her to make good on threats to get her fired.

The feud started last week when Evelyn revealed on air that Sheilah had split from her boyfriend Alex Bidandi, going as far as describing Sheilah Gashumba as someone who never settles into relationships. Sheilah didn’t take it quietly, warning Evelyn that she had the power to cost her the job at NRG Radio Uganda.

Evelyn laughed it off at the time, and this week she made it clear the threat hadn’t shaken her. “I’m a journalist, and I speak the truth. I stand by what I said,” she said on air. “They split up and because of me and what I said, they are trying to patch up the relationship.”

She added that she’d apologized and even told Sheilah’s PA she planned to do a follow-up story to set the record straight, but claims she never got that chance before the situation spilled onto social media. Evelyn also addressed her recent absence from her weekly program, which had left listeners wondering if Sheilah’s threats had gotten to her.

She explained that she had actually been away mourning the loss of her sister, and that close friends had shielded her from the online noise during that time, steering her away from anything that might add to the weight of what she was going through.

As for Sheilah’s comments, Evelyn insists she isn’t bothered. “I do not take it personally and I do not know why people are making it a big deal,” she said, adding that she sees the reaction as more about Alex’s side of the story than her own.

For now, the back-and-forth shows no sign of cooling off, with both women standing firm on their positions.
