Kampala Robbery: Three Arrested After trending Video
A trending robbery video showing five men violently beating and snatching a backpack from a man with machetes has prompted police to arrest them. One of the attackers was seen swinging the machete (panga) at the people who tried to stop them.
This event took place at Gwanda shopping mall, adjacent to Kisenyi Taxi Park in Kampala. The police however confirmed the location after the video went viral on social media. Police spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke shared on Sunday morning that these thugs were nabbed by police. Authorities nabbed three suspects directly linked to the heist. Investigators now question them to build a solid case.
Officers also detained three motorcycles used in the attack.
