Yung Mulo Denies Link to Criminal Sentenced to 130 Years

Yung Mulo is setting the record straight. The singer, born Lubega Kassim, has come out to clarify that he is not the person recently sentenced to 130 years in prison, after several media reports left the public confused about his identity.

The mix-up started when a convicted criminal, who identified himself in court as “Young Mulo,” received the lengthy sentence. Some media outlets ran with the story without revealing the man’s actual name, and the similarity was enough to convince parts of the public that the musician had been arrested, convicted, and jailed.

Yung Mulo addressed the confusion directly on his social media pages, stating plainly that he has never been involved in the case and is not the man behind bars. He didn’t hold back his frustration either, accusing certain outlets of damaging his reputation by running with the story without properly distinguishing between the two names.

“You have created your own ‘Young Mulos’ to soil and tarnish my name and image,” he said. “I’m busy promoting my show that is slated to happen October 9 in Munyonyo, but some have written in the papers claiming I was arrested and jailed for 130 years.” He questioned why the reports left out the convicted man’s real identity, arguing that the omission is what caused the confusion in the first place.

He also pointed to his legal ownership of the stage name, noting that he formally claimed “Yung Mulo” in court. “I claimed the name ‘Yung Mulo’ in courts of law,” he said, adding that he plans to gather evidence from every platform that published the story and pursue legal action to force them to clarify where the other man got or claimed the name.

For now, Yung Mulo says his focus remains on his upcoming Munyonyo show, even as he works to clear his name and hold the responsible outlets accountable.
