Taxi from Masindi Plunges into River Nyagak, Rescue Efforts Underway

This afternoon, a passenger taxi driving from Masindi District to Alangi Market in Zombo District plunged into the Nyagak River. The unexpected catastrophe has left many people concerned about the safety of everyone on board. Nyapea Hospital’s rescue teams responded immediately. Police officers arrived to assist with the urgent search and rescue effort.

Felix Warom Okello initially reported the incident via local channels. So yet, officials have not established the number of passengers inside the vehicle. They have also not disclosed any information regarding injuries or fatalities. Teams continue to explore the river and surrounding banks while daylight lasts.

The stretch of road where the accident occurred has uneven surfaces and very steep hills. Drivers frequently struggle to retain control on this tricky route.
