Jacob Kiplimo Targets Lisbon Half Marathon 2026

Uganda’s long-distance sensation Jacob Kiplimo sets his sights on Portugal. Jacob Kiplimo will race in the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon on March 8, 2026. This race provides a vital step in his build-up to the London Marathon.

National officials term the switch strategic. Kiplimo withdrew from the Barcelona Half Marathon. Uganda Athletics President Dominic Otuchet acknowledged the change to the media. “Kiplimo did not run in Barcelona,” Otuchet stated. “He will instead run in the Lisbon Half Marathon. It represents a savvy move as he sets up for London.”

Lisbon bears significant value for the star. In 2021, he smashed the world record there. His scorching time of 57:31 still stands as a benchmark. Kiplimo enters the race in peak shape.
